Our Dentists
Rebecca Owings Sam, DMD
Dr. Sam graduated from North Augusta High School in 1982. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from Clemson University. After working as a NICU nurse for several years, she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She then joined her father, Dr. David Owings, in his dental practice in North Augusta.
Dr. Sam is also trained to administer Botox and fillers.
Dr. Sam is the proud mom of Bentley and Emily, enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family and attending Clemson football games. She and her family are active members of First Baptist Church in North Augusta.

Alan Owings, DMD
Dr. Alan is a 1985 graduate of North Augusta High School. He completed his undergraduate work at Clemson University before attending The Medical College of Georgia, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He practiced dentistry for six years at McCormick Correctional Institution before joining his father and sister in the family dental practice.
Dr. Alan also trained under Gerety Orthodontics and offers orthodontic treatments for his patients.
Dr. Alan and his wife Laura have three children, Kacie (Jonathan) Adams, Allison (Jacob) Bass and Matthew Owings as well as four grandchildren, Ben, Blakely and Betsy Adams and Anderson Bass. In his free time, Dr. Alan enjoys doing yard work, spending time with family and cheering on the Clemson Tigers. His family is part of the core group that started TrueNorth Church in 2004 and they have served there in many different capacities through the years.

Allison Owings Bass, DMD
Dr. Allison is a 2014 graduate of North Augusta High School. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from Clemson University and then continued on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The Dental College of Georgia in 2022.
Dr. Allison and her husband Dr. Jacob Bass are proud parents of Anderson. In her free time, Dr. Allison enjoys teaching Pilates classes, reading, traveling and spoiling her Boykin Spaniel, Hank. She and Jacob are active members of Warren Belvedere Church.

Jacob Bass, DMD
Dr. Bass is a 2014 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Biology from Clemson University and then continued on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The Dental College of Georgia in 2024. In June 2025, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital in Augusta, GA, receiving advanced training in clinical and surgical procedures.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bass enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Allison Bass, and their son, Anderson. He’s an avid golfer, enjoys working in his yard, and loves to travel. The Bass family is active members of Warren Belvedere Church, where they are committed to serving and being involved in a small group.

History of Owings & Sam Dentistry
Dr. David Owings, father of Dr. Sam and Dr. Alan, was a 1973 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and practiced general dentistry in the CSRA for over 30 years. He was passionate about serving people whether in the office or in the community. He never met a stranger and everyone who knew him loved him. His legacy in providing excellent dental care continues through Owings and Sam Dentistry.
